It was not something that we had ever planned, but my husband and I decided that we might as well become wine collectors after a cancelled dinner party left us with a half dozen bottles of wine and nowhere to keep them, which led to us deciding that a wine rack would be a good choice for us as a means of storage. Of course, we didn't really know where we could find such a thing, let alone wine decanters, which we also guessed we would need if we really wanted to be wine connoisseurs.
Initially, we just assumed that if we got in the car and drove down to a nearby liquor store, the people working there might know where a person could find space-saving wine holders where we could keep the wine instead of just leaving it sitting on our kitchen counter like so much bread. Well, that trip was a bust, since the guys who worked there didn't care at all about how the wine was stored, mainly caring about selling the right quantity of booze.
We then went to a furniture store, thinking that they might be more helpful, but while they did have a couple wine racks in stock, they did not have a hanging wine rack, which is what we were thinking would be a better fit for us and would save space in our kitchen. We went back home with our tails between our legs and wondering why this was such a hard search for us.
The next step was to use the Internet, where we were able to find a great website that offered not only the hanging rack that we had been thinking of purchasing, but also several other options that we found intriguing, such as wall mounted wine racks and a wine rack table. I was very excited about the table because it would allow us to kill two birds with one stone and give us somewhere to store our wine while also permitting us to replace our old, crummy table that we had been wanting to get rid of.
After examining the various options, we decided to go with the table and started to make the online order, only to find ourselves making a slight detour and adding a few more things like a wine aerator and some other wine gifts to the order for other people that we knew. The order arrived soon enough and we quickly found ourselves admiring the way our new table was built as well as the nice materials that it was made from, and knowing that the built-in wine rack was going to be a great way to store our collection with a large amount of style and class.
