Movie Character Fancy Dress

By James S. Doughty

Star Wars Doctor Who Warehouse 13 There are so many amazing science fiction films and programs. Usually you see these wonderful characters emulated at conventions, but thanks to fancy dress you can create the look of your favourite character for anything from birthday parties to festivals. You could be a Dalek or a Droid, whatever takes your fancy; the possibilities of who or what you could become are endless.

Every classic fancy dress party has at least one Alice there. Alice in Wonderland has been a favourite from fancy dress to the films for years now. Alice's look is easily imitable and any character is easily recognisable with minimum effort rewarding maximum output. A few pink and purple stripes, you're the Cheshire Cat. A top hat, a waistcoat, and you're the Mad Hatter. Of course many costumes exist to save you the troubles of piecing a costume together from other things. The dormouse, albeit a less popular option than The Red Queen or Alice, is also available as an adorable outfit option.

Everyone likes a good laugh. And thanks to films like Bruno, Mr Bean, and other things that have characters with fabulous and striking outfits, you can elicit laughs from friends and strangers with a simple change of clothing. Fancy dress is an excuse to laugh and be silly. Why not go that extra mile with a comedic costume.

The rise of "adult cartoons" the past few years has also seen a rise of adult cartoon costumes; with Family Guy and American Dad being firm favourites. It is now easy to imitate Peter Griffin's look with masks, full costumes, and other things, or Roger's alcoholic alien persona, hidden under a Roger costume.

If none of that is your "thing", then you can never go wrong with a Romance. Some classics like Romeo and Juliet are simple to imitate, with corsets, petticoats and other period clothing. For a more modern and exciting take on love, why not dress up like Ramona Flowers and Scott Pilgrim.
