There May Be Different Reasons For Picking Laser Toner Cartridges Cleverly

These days everyone can obtain the benefit of a good printer, but it can be confusing as to which option to actually choose. The choice that you decide upon, will vary with where you wish to use a printer, be it in the workplace or the home, and what you are going to use it for. Your choices boil down to two different types, and they are the inkjet printer and the laser printer that uses Laser Toner Cartridges.

Either option comes with pros and cons, and will largely be dependent on the user's requirements and situation. If something containing photographs or pictures requires printing, then an inkjet is probably the best option, although the manufacturers are trying to redress this. If the requirement is mainly for high quality, rapidly printed text documents, then this type of printer will fit the bill. The difference largely lies within how each type prints, and with which medium.

Inkjet printers actually use ink in a liquid form. Minute droplets of ink are precisely sprayed onto a sheet of paper to form an image. These droplets of ink are finer in diameter than the average hair on your head. As any colour combination can be achieved, an ink jet printer produces excellent results for photo printing tasks.

This sort of printer will use a toner cartridge. These don't actually contain any ink; instead they use a powder. The powder contains a precise mix of carbon, plastic, or wax, particles and a colouring agent. The way that this kind of printer works is based on some very sound scientific principles, but they have been used in a very clever way.

The basic idea behind printing with this kind of printer, is the use of static charges. This variety of electricity is simply an electrical charge, which has been gathered on an insulated object. Atoms that have opposite charges will be pulled toward each other, thus forming an electrical bond. This kind of printer utilizes this principle in its operation. At the heart of the printer is a very clever rotating drum, and it is made from a highly photo-conductive material.

When a printing task has been started this rotating drum has a positive charge applied to it, the laser beam will discharge certain areas causing an electrostatic images to be formed on the drum. Positively charged toner particles are then applied to the drum. Paper is passed under the rotating drum, as it has a greater charge than the drum; it effectively pulls the image from the drum onto the paper itself.

The sheet of paper with the toner image will then pass between a pair of heated rollers. They will cause the plastic coating on the toner particles to melt and so fuse to the fibres in the paper. This is why the paper that is ejected from the printer always feels warm to the touch. To prevent the paper itself burning, the speed that it travels is carefully calibrated.

As you can see there is a bit more of a complicated process involved with a laser printer. The cartridges also have a bit more to them than an inkjet cartridge. Having said that, Laser Toner Cartridges, with their lack of liquid, are not prone to smudging or blurring, and produce consistently excellent results.
