Organic Farming & The Simplicity Next To Industrial

By Rob Sutter

It seems as though there is a lot of attention given to the industrial ways when considering farming, which makes me scratch my head. To me, there is so much more that can be considered about organic farming, especially when there are so many different crops that can be brought to the surface. That being said, you may be curious as to what you can attain from this procedure. If this is the case, I have no doubt that there are certain stories that deserve your interest.

One of the more inspiring stories came about through an article on USDA and it went into tremendous detail about organic farming. In my eyes, authorities such as Colle Farmers Market know all too well just how vital it is for consumers to attain the best crops but what about those who make it a point to grow them? This is where Carol Huether is able to come into the picture. She was able to take the idea of organics and make an entire business for herself in the process.

Huether left her job in the way of managing business a few years ago so that she could focus on a wide scope of land. She utilized 10 acres, specifically, in Spring Creek but how easy was this, you may wonder? The article could lead the reader to believe that it was not very easy at all, seeing as how the arid terrain can lead to dust storms, which aren't especially great for crops. It probably goes without saying that there is more effort to be seen in the way of cultivation.

There were various tools incorporated as well for the sake of greater farming efforts, which is especially true when looking at those conducted by Huether. She was able to put greenhouse-like hoop houses to house, which have been able to perpetuate much more effective growth in the long term. In Spring Creek, there is consistent sunlight, meaning that this was what was able to fuel the hoop houses, not the type of energy that is common with the alternative. Thanks to the arena's natural sunlight, the season for cultivation expanded.

You should be able to make the most with what little that you have, which is true in the organic efforts that Huether was responsible for. It is clear that there are some areas of the world which pose more limitations than others, which means that effort has to be seen in order for them to be trumped. Sunlight is just one of the elements that can come into play, as the report went into detail about. It is clear that organic farming stands out, meaning that conventional farming should be cast aside.
