Are You On The Fence About Buying A Kindle Or An iPad, Which Should You Choose?

There are quite a few popular blogs and forums saying that the Kindle Fire is going to make the Apple iPad obsolete. If you are wondering should you buy a Kindle Fire to get ahead of the curve or just to keep up with the latest and greatest, let's review the Apple iPad and Kindle Fire.

There are a lot of similarities between the Kindle Fire and iPad. It all depends what you are mainly going to use it for. Also, the iPad cost $500 while the Kindle is $200.

But is the Kindle Fire worth $200?

Both of these devices pretty much do about the same thing. The Kindle Fire is an e-reader and it has some features of a tablet; and the iPad is a tablet and you can use it as an e-reader.

For now, let's analyze the Kindle Fire and see if the Apple iPad is the better buy.

With the Apple iPad and Kindle, you can read a lot of books, download and listen to your favorite tunes, interact on Facebook, and have access to the Internet.

The Kindle Fire was designed to give you most of the important features of a tablet but also function as an e-reader while keeping the cost to a minimal. And it has done a fine job at that.

People who love to read find that the e-Ink display on the Kindle Fire is like reading a book without using two hands to do it. This lends a lot to reading enhancement. It reads beautifully in well-lit areas and you can do more than just read e-books.

If you decide to buy a Kindle Fire, you get FREE access to Amazon's Prime library for 30 days. Amazon Prime is a membership service where you can read and watch unlimited e-books, movies, and TV episodes.

The Kindle Fire holds its own to the iPad in this area. However, the resolution of the display screen is not as good on the Kindle but picture quality is not sacrificed. But when you look at them side-by-side, there is no real difference, only the screen is smaller on the Kindle.

Another great thing about the Kindle Fire is that you can hook it up to your TV and watch your favorite shows and movies this way; but your TV needs to have a USB access and you need to have a USB or HDMI cord to enjoy this feature. You can also do this with an iPad.

With its larger display screen, the iPad's picture and sound quality is superb. You can go to Amazon's Prime library and choose from their wide variety of TV shows, e-books, and movies. You can even access and stream TV shows and cinema movies right from your Kindle or iPad.

Amazon did not skimp in the app department for the Kindle Fire. There is a wide variety of free and paid apps that you can choose from in Amazon's App store. These apps have been rigorously screened by the computer experts employed by Amazon.

You can be comfortable in knowing that these apps are legit and they are not adware or malware malicious apps.

The Advantages To Owning an iPad.

The iPad cost more than the Kindle because you get more and you can do more with the iPad. The iPad is must faster when browsing the Internet; it has more gigs to store more stuff; and it has dual-facing cameras to take better pictures. The iPad has all of this and more.

The Kindle Fire was mainly designed to function as an e-reader, plus have common functions as a tablet. On the other hand, the iPad was designed to replace a laptop and net book. The net book has become as out-dated as a word processor since the iPad came out.

The Kindle Fire may outperform the iPad as an e-reader but it does not even come close to replacing a net book or laptop like the iPad can. Both devices have back-lit displays so you can see and read easily in bright light.

As far as e-readers go, the iPad is good because it has a larger screen but it is not as light weight or portable as the Kindle Fire.

Although the Kindle bookstore has a wide variety of e-books, you can only access Kindle bookstore with the Kindle. When you purchase an iPad, you have access to Kindle bookstore, B&N bookstore, and Apples iBookstore.

It is an enjoyable experience watching movies on the iPad as well as the Kindle. With the iPad, you have a larger display, which makes it nice and more comfortable for more than one person to watch a movie or share photos.

With the iPad, you can stream movies from your PC to save on storage space if you don't want to store them on your iPad. Just like the Kindle, you can hook up your iPad to your TV and enjoy watching TV shows and movies on a larger screen.

Bluetooth, 3G, and GPS come right out of the box with the iPad and other bells and whistles that the Kindle does not offer. Since the Kindle Fire is not an iOS device, there are many apps you will not have access to.

Playing larger games on the Kindle may not be as enjoyable because it may take longer to load. Whereas the iPad can play larger and smaller games like Angry Birds.

You can't hook up a keyboard that is wireless via Bluetooth nor can you hook up a guitar to a Kindle and use it for a multi-effects processor.

Neither device is superior over the other, since the both of them were designed with different intentions. If you want more disk space, more functionality, faster downloading of games, and you can pay over $500 for a tablet, the iPad is for you.

If you are an avid reader who enjoys on occasion downloading music, watching movies, playing small games, and doing some casual Internet surfing, then the Kindle Fire is the wise choice for you.
