Would "Home Improvement" be a feasible idea in this day and age? While I don't believe that the show itself should be brought back, what about the idea of the show that was done within the show? I thought that the idea of two people talking about tools and showcasing comedy in general could be something that would appeal to a crowd today. It would have to be done well, though, if a show about tools like quality rivets would be able to attract an audience in this day and age.
One of the bigger concerns that I have about a show like this is whether or not there is an audience for it. While this particular show was done well in the 90's, I don't know whether or not a modern crowd would take to it without a couple of changes made. What sorts of changes would have to done, you may ask yourself? Well, I think that the best way to start is to make use of technology that the general public has access to now.
It seems like now is the time where smartphone usage is at an all-time high and it's not difficult to see why, either. Apps seem to be all the rage and they are easy to use, making them smart downloads for those who want to attain as many features as humanly possible. These programs may be able to see what tools are best in addition to the most recommended brands. These are just a couple of aspects in which these tools can come into the picture of construction.
Maybe you don't think a show can work if its focus is going to be on quality rivets, amongst other types of tools and utilities. However, I believe that this kind of emphasis can work very well because of the audience that is being appealed to. They understand what kind of technology is used today and being able to focus on them is for the best because of how long they will put such hardware to use in comparison to those who are older. They will also be the ones who will see how reputable authorities such as Bay Fastening Systems can be.
"Home Improvement" might have been a great idea in the past. It may still be a good idea but it may not be as effective unless changes are made in order to make it more modern. Yes, being able to keep things classic is all part of nostalgia and I don't want to be the one who steps on anyone's memories. However, for the sake of bringing a more current audience in the direction of quality rivets, I think that such changes can prove to be the best in the long run.
