Kindle Fire Specifications

By Sebastian Cork

When you look at the Kindle Fire specification, you will be among the thousands who have come to love the improvement made by Amazon, in comparison to the very first Kindle device the company unveiled a few years back. The Kindle, Kindle DX, and Touch were exclusively designed for e-reading while offering total access to the Amazon online shopping environment. While it is true that the previous models were certainly at the top of their class, the Kindle Fire is something that is more than just an e-reader. In fact, for the first-time Amazon created something that is widely regarded as a top contender for the title of being the best tablet around, competing with the likes of Apple and Samsung.

The device comes equipped with a 7-inch screen coupled with a touch interface. By comparison though, it is obvious that it is smaller in terms of screen size when compared to the Apple iPad or the different versions of the Samsung Galaxy Tab. However, it's unfair to say that having a small screen is in fact a downside because as far as Kindle fans are concerned; having a 7-inch screen is just perfect for reading. That is because Amazon in reality intended the said screen size in order to perfectly replicate the experience of reading and holding a book.

Another notable Kindle Fire specification is the design which has been optimized for convenient grip and handling. You will probably observe that it doesn't have fancy edges or a shiny look. That is because the device is mainly built to have a minimalist look without the curvy ergonomics. Again, it's entirely because of the principle of emulating a real book in your hands. But, the main difference to that of a real book is you get the same size item, but thousands of titles in one.

However, it cannot be avoided that some people will eventually find all the disadvantages innate in the device, and that's perfectly normal. Except then again, it is also imperative on our part to reveal the best things the Kindle Fire can offer, and perhaps the most obvious one is the access to thousands of exclusive title's courtesy of Amazon, the largest online retailer. So with thousands of books ready for download, it's virtually having a library in your hands.

One of the main reasons why the Kindle Fire is rapidly gaining popularity among mainstream consumers is because there is complete and free access to Amazon's AppStore. Even if the device is using the Google's Android operating system, a large part of the user interface is still modeled after the Amazon online shopping environment. There may be lesser apps and games found in the AppStore, the biggest draw is in contrast the exclusive Kindle books somewhere around 180,000.

So deciding to purchase the Kindle Fire is mainly considered as something that's really worth the investment. You will not see any other product from other brands or manufacturers that are able to successfully integrate e-reading-functionality with all the other popular multimedia functions commonly found in tablet computers.
