The Brady Bunch is a TV sitcom that started 40 years ago. The show was created when Sherwood Schwartz found that 20 to 30 percent families had at least one child from previous marriage. With this in mind, he wrote a 30 minute pilot episode. Where a widow with 3 daughters marries a widower with 3 sons and they all end up going to the honeymoon together.

As it came to choosing the cast, the producers believe it would be much easier if the children had the same hair color as their parents. The trouble started when the casting of the children started initially, therefore, in order to back up their plan they must have 3 blonde girls, three blonde boys, three brunette girls and 3 brunette boys.

Carol's part was supposed to be played by Joyce Bulifant from Mary Tyler Moore Show. But when Florence Henderson auditioned, she nailed her screen test. So Florence ended up having the role, consequently, it means that all girls were going to be blonde. Some people think it would be much better if the girls were brunettes. Because they think, brunettes seem more mischievous.

The Academy Award winning legend, Gene Hackman has been selected to portray the part of the architect father Mike Brady. Paramount Studios didn't agree to this, thinking that Hackman was not recognized in that time and wouldn't have performed on television. It's really probable that Mr. Hackman would have dodged a bullet with this decision. And so the role ended up with Robert Reed, who didn't want the part. He previously had been auditioning for Paramount Studios for three various shows and this was his least favorite. He previously had many arguments with the show around the years so he didn't appear on the final episode.

The Brady Bunch episodes was among the last shows to highlight enjoyment at home, comedy scenarios, filled with kids, and middle class parents. Each one of these cheerful faces resided in a four room house in LA suburbs. The Brady Bunch plot involves family camping trips, children getting along and competition for the family telephone. There was a single time, when their father placed a payphone and not to forget the war in the restroom.

During the beginning of the Brady Bunch TV show, the children's age ranged from 7 to 14 years of age. The oldest son, Greg played by Barry Williams turned into a teen idol. During 1971 he was receiving six thousand five hundred fan mails weekly. Barry, with the others chose to take their television screen achievements into recording opportunities in 1970s but without significant achievements.
