The End Of The World Has Been Talked About Since Almost The Beginning Of The Ages

Ancient Mayans made the news quite a bit last year. People were concerned that life on earth was going to stop. They felt since the Mayan calendar ended last December, then just about everything else was going to come to a halt. The end of the world has been talked about for a very long time and appears in countless science fiction novels as the main story line. These events have obviously never occurred, but there are many who feel that it is just a matter of time. Sooner or later, they say, we may have to learn to survive in a post apocalyptic world.

The apocalypse was brought up in the Bible. Revelations told in ugly detail of the horror which awaited certain groups of people. Not a soul was advised when this kind of event may happen. A lot of people have been searching for signs associated with world ending since those ancient times.

Many stories of fiction were wrote to express how the author thought the end would happen. So many books have been produced on this topic that it is now a sub genre of science fiction. These literary works often describe disasters that await mankind if people do not change his or her ways.

Unlike the story by John in Revelations where God returns to earth to cast sinners into the hot fires of hell. The other stories give many reasons for the demise of the world. A favorite method of destruction authors liked to write about during the second half of the twentieth century has been nuclear holocausts.

A renowned works connected with fiction with this genre in the past one 100 years has been the War of the Worlds. This was the works of an author named H. G. Wells. Orson Welles, an actor who became very famous, told the story on the radio with 1938. This caused a significant amount of terror among people listening on their radios and who thought an alien attack was actually happening. There have been stories of folks fleeing his or her homes to get away from the Martians they thought had landed in New York.

Governmental officials were very unhappy about the broadcast. They sent law enforcement over to CBS to eliminate the broadcast. Arriving a too late, the officers took the scripts actors utilized in hopes they could avoid a repeating the story over the air waves. Some people wound up suing CBS simply because they felt a great deal mental anguish thinking the end was upon them.

The broadcast was told again many times over the radio. However, during these other broadcasts people were continuously informed that this broadcast was simply these remaking the classic 1938 story telling. Some broadcasters would do this for a Halloween treat for a children.

People love to be scary stories. One the most popular subjects has been stories that concern the end of the world and how life will be after most everything is destroyed. Time will tell if anyone is right about what will happen and how the events will unfold. Until then, people will just have to wonder how the world will end.
