Determining Which E-Reader is Better: Kobo vs. Kindle,

By Sebastian Cork

As you decide to buy a new e-reader for your reading hobbies, you will instantly realize that doing so actually means that you also have to look at several factors so as to get the utmost satisfaction you want from the device. Put in mind that an e-reader is pretty much like other technological devices you have come to consider as a necessity such as computers and mobile phones. Although an e-reader does not have the same kind of impact among mainstream gadget lovers, it's rapidly becoming an important piece for those who love to read books.

So if you are a fan of e-book reading, then you must be familiar with the two most significant and popular e-reading devices today. These two are the Kobo and Kindle. It's quite justified for you to consider both of these devices at the top and the best that anyone can find in stores. There are so many features and advantages found in them that will surely make every potential buyer look at the two first before really contemplating on purchasing other brands. But what really gives both devices an edge? So here's a look at why you should be considering one of the two when you're shopping for an e-reader:

The Kindle is an e-reader that is made and designed for Amazon, the largest online retailer for all sorts of products. It is considered the best and most popular e-reader on the market today and that is because it owns the largest number of sales. It is very popular because it is actually the first tablet device that is specifically designed for e-book reading. The kind of optimization towards reading texts and pages has made the device a legend in its own right. However, there has been a rise of competition the moment other brands realized and saw the success of the Kindle. And one of those current serious competitors is the Kobo. The best edge of the Kobo is probably its price. It seems to have the same specs and functionality to that of the Kindle but it is priced much more conveniently.

Kobo therefore is a more practical and cheaper alternative to the Kindle. Nonetheless, it does not mean that it is of lower quality considering the price. In fact, it is well equipped with features that are usually found in other e-readers. Nevertheless, the price wouldn't be the only thing to look into as well. There are other factors to weigh up.

Yes, the price is a big factor. And when it comes the most important one, a shopper would normally go for the cheaper and inexpensive one, which in this case is the Kobo. The Amazon Kindle on the other hand naturally comes more expensive but the makers boast the fact that it can store more books inside than the Kobo.

Finally, the price tag will still be offset if someone really wants to guarantee the quality. It isn't always correct to say that a cheaper brand also has low class and quality. However, one could also expect that the main reason why some are more expensive is because they have better features and specs.
