Surrounded in wonderful wilderness is a lovely little town called Rose City. It is in the county of Ogemaw, which is in northwestern Michigan. This place offers multiple places to shop, which include a variety of items. There is also glorious nature to view, no matter where you look.
In 1875 this area was originally called Churchill, this all changed in 1892 when the railroad started to go through. The city was then re-titled for the founder, Allen S. Rose. Mr. Rose relocated from New York City to Michigan. Although this place was founded in 1875, it was not incorporated until 1905.
Most people here hold factory jobs, mainly in the plastics, machinery and auto part fields, but there is still a good percentage of people that work at the small shops throughout the city. The general age of people here is 44.6 and the number of people in the area is around 653.
An amazing area of wilderness with 4,449 acres is located a mere three miles from the city! It is a large, beautiful recreational area. It used to be privately owned, but it was snatched up and thankfully made available to everyone. This is a great area for nature loving activities. You can do things like cross-country skiing, fishing, boating, hunting, swimming, canoeing and hiking.
Just imagine taking your family down this beautiful river. Watching the fish swim beneath your boat. You could take a relaxing canoeing trip or just boat down the river without all the stress of daily life. This would be a great time to listen to nature, the wind through the trees and have the breeze gently kiss your face. You could become one with the outside world, really connect back to where you came from.
