Tips On Packing Your Bags For A Beach Outing

By Harry Mosinard

Summer is just around the corner, and it's time once again to hit the beach. You probably miss the sea breeze, the crystal clear waters, and the warm sand of nearby or out of town beach resorts. To make sure you're ready for your great day at the resort, you have to know how to pack your beach bags and totes.

Pick out your overnight bag

If you don't have a tote bag for the beach yet, you can purchase them from a local vendor, as well as one that is based online. Prices can vary among vendors, so it is best to check various sources before buying one. When buying beach bags and totes make sure that they are big enough to fit all the things you wish to bring along, and that it is durable. If you're bringing your family with you, you may need to bring two bags to fit everything you need.

Shop for your beach supplies

You should never leave the house without a towel. If it's too sunny, you should also get an umbrella, a pair of sunglasses and hat. Irrespective of the weather in the resort you're going to, it would be a good idea to have a sunscreen.

Snacks and meals

If you plan to stay overnight, it would be a good idea still to bring in some snacks you or your children can munch on. Salads and sandwiches are ideal for the beach because they are easy to prepare and bring. Bring your own water bottles, too. Also, water from the tap at beach resorts may not be as clean as the ones you have at home. To prevent food and drinks from spilling, you can place them into a lunchbox prior to placing them into the bag.

Cameras

To preserve your memories of summertime at the beach, bring a camera with you. It is often unwise to bring an expensive camera to the beach, though, especially if you're going alone. There are inexpensive waterproof cameras available, some of them are disposable, some can also be used underwater.

Other things you may need to bring

Bring balls, floats, pail and shovel, magazines and books, or your music player so you can keep yourself and your companions entertained while at the beach. Naturally, you should bring your sandals, swimming gear and apparel, and extra clothes if you wish to go around the resort. It would be wise to call the resort to know what items and supplies are included in the package. Even though majority of resorts have chairs you can rent, there are also those which do not have them.
