An Author And Wanderer Lindsay Merbaum

Writing is her passion. She breathes, eats, sleeps, and lives for writing wonderful novels and making them a part of the daily life of people. Reading her wonderful novels will keep you asking and wondering. You can never put down a book when the author is no other than, Lindsay Merbaum.

Lindsay grew up in the East Coast and began her passion for books at an early age. She is an editor, content writer for famous online book blogs and sites and a fiction novelist by heart. She also has a passion for travelling different places and learning their culture. She was awarded a scholarship for the Disquiet International Literary Program. And allowed her to travel in Lisbon in the year two thousand twelve.

She joined a writing competition in Brooklyn College, fall of 2005 and it earned her another award. She vested the Himan Brown Award along with other fiction writers and playwrights enrolled in the Creative Writing Department of Brooklyn College. The award giving body was headed by the benefactor himself, Himan Brown. He is a famous radio personality, who have produced a number of award winning radio series.

Brooklyn College offers the MFA program to playwrights, poets and fiction writers. It is a two year, highly personal program that gathers Fine Arts students. It generally offers one on one tutorials, seminars and workshops. And they value faculty and student relations.

Known as a famous writer, Lindsay is also a teacher by profession a few years back. She is fond of travelling and wants to gain more experience in teaching. She accepted the offer and taught in Quito, Ecuador as an English teacher.

In 2010, she left Ecuador ad relocated to California. Some of her stories have appeared in a number of magazines and journals, such as the Epiphany, Gargoyle, PANK, The Collagist, and Dzanc Books Best of the Web. Her masterpiece has also been nominated for a story South Award, and for inclusion in the Best American Short Stories series.

She would rather be in the company of books, reading till the wee hours of the night, than socializing with people. She grew up in the East Coast with an interest of fictional books, since she was young. She considers herself a home buddy, who loves to cook, listen to jazz music, or studying literature. That is if she is not so hooked up in a story.

Lindsay now lives in San Francisco with her husband. She is currently working on a novel, The Wailing Room. The story revolves around Clytemnestra, a lovely and mysterious hotel employee with a dual identity. It also narrates three hotel guests grappling with painful secrets and revelations. The story depicts a portrait of a New York City hotel offering guests every possible luxury, along with complete privacy and anonymity.

She loves writing novels with a suspense thriller theme. She feels her blood pumping wild while writing challenging and mysterious stories. She also gets inspiration from travelling in different places around the globe. She plans to travel again and learn different cultures. But, that would have to wait. She has a story to finish. Creating stories will always be with her. And even when she is old enough to have grandkids, she will still be writing.
